Watch: Stags fans start to queue for tickets to glamour FA Cup tie with Arsenal

This was the scene down at the One Call Stadium first this morning after tickets went on sale for Mansfield Town’s FA Cup glamour tie with Arsenal.

Tickets went on sale to season-ticket holders last night with fans clamouring to get their hands on the hottest ticket in town.

Down at the ground at 9am this morning fans had begun to gather as they waited for the ticket office to open.

Amongst those in the small queue was Oliver Toon, who has been following Stags for 30 years.

He said the game would deservedly give the Radfords something back for their dedication and investment down the years.

“Financially for John, it is a great day,” he said. “I have seen a lot of people moaning about ticket prices and the price of going into the marque, but you can’t blame the club for cashing in on the game.

"The Radfords took us out of the pits and have improved facilities and what we do in the transfer windows. We have got to give John something back and this is what it is.

“I can’t wait for the game. I was very excited when I saw the draw,” he said. “I wish it was away, but it doesn’t matter. We can get them up here and just take it as it is and have a good day.

“I hope it gives us some momentum because we want to stop in the league, that is one thing we need to do.”

Phil Smith, a Stags fan since 1959, described the draw as fantastic for the club.

"It is bang on, it is brilliant and a fantastic draw,” he said. "I couldn’t believe it when they came out of the hat.

“I hope it gives the club some money because we need the money. What John Radford has done for this club is unreal.

“We were robbed against Liverpool and, on the day you never know. Look what happened at Burnley.”

Stags will host the Premier League leaders in the FA Cup fifth round in front of a sold-out stadium and a global tv audience on Saturday March 7, with a 12.15pm kick off.
