Ella Mai will perform at Sun City Superbowl on 25 April as part of the three-day Konka Kulture Weekend, followed by a Cape Town show at GrandWest on 26 April.

The singer is expected to perform fan favourites like Boo’d Up and Trip alongside tracks from her latest album, Do You Still Love Me.

The Sun City show is presented in partnership with Konka and Vertex Events, while the Cape Town concert will be solely hosted by Vertex Events.

Fresh off the release of her third studio album, Do You Still Love Me, British R&B artist Ella Mai has announced two South African concert dates, giving local fans their first chance to see her live and hear her new material.

The award-winning singer-songwriter will grace South African stages on Saturday, 25 April, at the Sun City Superbowl as part of the highly anticipated Konka Kulture Weekend, before heading to the Mother City for a second show at GrandWest on Sunday, 26 April.

Ella Mai’s South African visit offers fans two distinct experiences.

The Sun City performance forms part of the three-day Konka Kulture Weekend experience, presented in partnership with Konka and Vertex Events in association with Sun City. Meanwhile, Cape Town fans will get an intimate yet electrifying experience when Vertex Events hosts her solo show at GrandWest.

“As an iconic hosting destination, Sun City is proud to present yet another world-class event experience, thoughtfully curated to meet every guest’s expectations,” says Sun City Convention Centre Manager Nombuso Buthelezi.

“We believe that music has a unique power to unite people, creating moments of connection that transcend the ordinary.”

While fans can expect to hear chart-topping anthems like Boo’d Up and Trip, Ella Mai is bringing much more to South African stages.

Her latest offering, the third studio album Do You Still Love Me, already features much-loved tracks such as Little Things and Tell Her, giving fans a taste of her evolved sound.

Since landing on the music scene in 2015, the English R&B sweetheart has built an impressive career timeline, delivering consistent hits and collaborating with industry heavyweights including Babyface, Chris Brown, Usher, H.E.R., Nicki Minaj, Quavo, and Ed Sheeran.

For Vertex Events, hosting another elite R&B artist represents their commitment to bringing world-class entertainment to South African audiences.

“As an events company that yearns to cater for various crowds, we are so excited to host yet another elite R&B artist in our country. We look forward to creating once-in-a-lifetime live music experiences,” expresses Vertex Events’ Head of Events, Zizile Mtshali.

The timing couldn’t be more perfect for R&B lovers planning the ultimate music weekend. Starting with the full Konka Kulture Weekend experience at Sun City on Saturday, fans can then make their way to Cape Town for Sunday’s more intimate GrandWest performance.

Buthelezi emphasises the lasting impact they hope to create: “It is our intention that long after the final note, guests will leave with unforgettable memories and stories worth sharing for years to come.”

As one of the UK’s most successful R&B exports, Ella Mai’s South African debut marks a significant moment for local music fans who have supported her journey since her breakthrough nearly a decade ago.
