Arsenal youngsters Elyon Mbala and Theo Odaji-Ukueku are both expected to be part of the club’s scholarship intake for next season after they were offered contracts.

Left-back Mbala has made two appearances for the U18s this season, starting against Southampton and Aston Villa.

Odaji-Ukueku, who can play at right-back or in midfield, started for the U18s against West Bromwich Albion last season and was also named on the bench against Aston Villa last weekend. He has progressed all the way through the ranks at Hale End.

Both players joined Arsenal from Ryan FC, who confirmed their scholarship offers.

It has already been confirmed that Max Dowman, Emerson Nwaneri, Mishel Nduka, Kyran Thompson, Angelinou Pedro and new signing Daniel McCarron will be part of the scholarship intake.

Hakeem Abubakar, Joshua Sesay, Charlie Purdy and Jayden Oba could also be included.

Arsenal can have a maximum of 16 players in next season’s scholarship intake, which means there is still potentially space for further new signings in this age group.
