Chelsea fans have their say on Lewis Hall sale ahead of potential Champions League reunion

Chelsea could be facing up against one of their former academy superstars in the next round of the Champions League after Newcastle and Lewis Hall’s qualification.

It will be either Newcastle, PSG or Monaco in the next round for the Blues, who could see winning the Champions League as their only route to qualifying for next season’s competition.

Chelsea have nothing to fear against PSG after their Club World Cup triumph last summer, but Premier League opposition in their maiden knockout campaign would pose a number of different issues.

Should Chelsea be allowed to spend WHATEVER they want on transfers?

One of the big factors that would hit the decision makers at the club is to see Hall play a starring role after the Blues decided to cash in on the youngster not long after they took over at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea fans massively regret selling Lewis Hall to Newcastle

The Chelsea Chronicle asked TalkingPoints users what they thought of the decision made to sell Hall, and you can sign up to TalkingPoints to give your say on this as well as everything else going on at the club.

PROVE ME WRONG: Chelsea should never have let Newcastle sign Lewis Hall ⭐

Micah Richards would start him at the World Cup…

Blues supporters are very much regretting the deal to part ways with the left-back. One user said: “We DEFINITELY pooped the bed on that one, same with Maatsen if you ask me.”

Another added: “It’s actually a wrong decision taken to have sold such a good young player him and now having fringe LB like Hato in my club.

One user also stated: “Just a matter of timing. He wanted to play and felt his road was blocked at Chelsea and chose to move on. With such a strong squad it will always happen with our academy players.”

Chelsea need Lewis Hall now more than ever

With Marc Cucurella currently on the treatment table, the Blues are desperate for someone to step up and hold down the left-back position.

It is clear Liam Rosenior does not have faith in Jorrel Hato. He started Malo Gusto out of position in that role against Burnley.

Hall would be the perfect option for the Blues right now, made more painful by the fact that he was previously part of the first team squad.

Todd Boehly and co will be praying that if they are drawn against Eddie Howe’s side that they are not embarrassed by Hall, who will be out there with a point to prove against his former side.
