Chelsea should be furious with the FA after latest charge following clash vs West Ham

Chelsea have been charged for their players’ part in the altercation at the end of the 3-2 win against West Ham, however have somehow been fined more than their opponents.

The Blues have been no stranger to FA charges this season, with their discipline continuing to be their achilles heel throughout this season.

It all kicked off at the end of the London derby following Enzo Fernandez’s winning goal, when the players clashed as a result of an altercation between Marc Cucurella and Adama Traore.

Traore has already apologised to Cucurella for the incident, however it was the fallout that involved Joao Pedro and Jean-Clair Todibo that saw the latter see red on the day.

The FA have now had their say, and according to their official statement have fined Chelsea £325,000 for failing to control their players.

West Ham however have only been fined £300,000 for their part in the incident, despite the fact that they were the ones who saw a player sent off as a result.

It’s has not been long since Chelsea were last charged by the FA in January for failing to control their players during a game against Aston Villa.

The Blues were always going to have to expect a fine to come their way following the West Ham game, however to see themselves charged more than their opponents makes no sense whatsoever.

It’s getting ridiculous now 😡

How can Liam Rosenior stop this?

Lack of discipline is ruining Chelsea’s season

The Blues are now up to eight red cards so far this season, not including one picked up by Enzo Maresca for excessive celebrations.

Frequently this has contributed directly to Chelsea dropping points in the Premier League. The most recent example of this was at the weekend when Wesley Fofana was sent off in the second half against Burnley.

The continuation of this trend since the hiring of Liam Rosenior has shown that it is not a problem that came from Maresca, and one that needs to be addressed immediately before this season goes down the drain completely.
