The Premier League leaders, Arsenal, are looking to sign a former Chelsea flop at the end of the season. Arsenal’s coach Mikel Arteta is keen to sign their former rival player Cristian Pulisic. Pulisic has been in decent form at AC Milan, providing assists and creating chances for his club. It will be interesting to see the saga of Pulisic and Arsenal.
Chelsea flop Cristian Pulisic can turn into the next Mo Salah or Kevin De Bruyne if he returns to the Premier League with Arsenal or Manchester United. That is according to former Manchester United goalkeeper Tim Howard, who believes that fellow American Pulisic has vastly improved his game since an underwhelming four years at Stamford Bridge.
The attacking midfielder was sold at a significant loss to AC Milan and has since grown into one of Serie A’s best players. Pulisic is now ready to return to English football, following the pathway of Premier League greats Salah and De Bruyne, who also initially struggled at Chelsea before moving away and then making a name for themselves at a rival.
“I’m going to put him in a very high class here,” Tim Howard told the podcast of Pulisic. “De Bruyne and Salah, we now know the finished products.
Howard’s suggestion on Chelsea flop joining Arsenal
Howard said, “When I say those names, people are going to go, ‘Huh? Those are two of the greatest players in Premier League history, but I remember Kev De Bruyne at Chelsea, and I remember Mohamed Salah at Chelsea. “They weren’t good enough, apparently, so they went abroad. Mohamed Salah went to Roma, and Kevin De Bruyne went to Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg. They were the players that they were, they gained confidence, they did all those things, they came back to the Premier League and then it was game over; history was written.
“I feel that with Pulisic as well because he was at Borussia Dortmund. We get it, it’s a big club. He was still young, though, and he then went to Chelsea. “I backed him to the hilt at Chelsea and unfortunately he didn’t get the rub of the green, went through some different coaches, and then he went off. But he sort of reminds me of Salah and De Bruyne in that he went off, he’s matured, and he’s older, and he’s gone to one of the best teams in the league.
“He’s put AC Milan on his back, and he’s been the best player in that league, so now I think, from the physical and football maturity side. He now comes back to the Premier League, and he gets slotted into a Manchester United, Arsenal, or Liverpool. I think there’s actually another level for him.”
Pulisic’s latest game for Milan
Mariano Troilo scored an 80th-minute winner as Parma stunned AC Milan with a smash and grab 1-0 Seria A victory at the San Siro on Sunday. All but ending the host’s title chances and leaving leader Inter Milan celebrating. The defeat, a first in 25 games in Serie A, leaves second-placed Milan on 54 points from 26 games, 10 points behind city rival Inter with 12 rounds remaining. Parma is in 12th with 32 points.
Milan had the better of the chances in a game that lacked clear-cut opportunities and struck the post through Rafael Leao. Parma had frustrated Milan all game and then took a rare opportunity from a set piece. Something that has been a trademark of its season to date.
The home side dominated possession but created little in the way of clear-cut chances in the first half. The best fell to Christian Pulisic, but he scuffed his shot wide of the left-hand post. Pulisic saw his goal bound shot blocked early in the second half. Before Leao crashed a volley against the base of the post and the ball flashed agonisingly across the face of goal.
