Former Premier League goalkeeper Ben Foster reckons Chelsea's squad will be mocking Liam Rosenior behind closed doors after his latest press conference remarks. The Blues boss turned heads following last weekend's 1-1 stalemate at Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea surrendered points against Burnley.
After the draw, Rosenior pinpointed a botched "marking assignment" from an unidentified defender as the reason behind Zian Flemming's goal for the Clarets. Speaking on his Fozcast podcast, ex-Manchester United and Wrexham keeper Foster pulled no punches, claiming that Rosenior's tactical language is already being turned into memes by the players.
Foster reckons that by publicly criticising his squad in such precise, technical terms, the manager has effectively given them ammunition to ridicule him in private.
Responding to the comments, he said: "Two words for you, woke nonsense. I've never heard a manager say to me an assignment was missed, or talk to the lads and say an assignment was missed. You can't talk like that.
"A hundred per cent, they'll be sharing memes. They'll have a few little mini group chats between them, not a whole team group, because you don't do it on the big main one. You'll have a few whisperers. There will be three or four little cliques.
"You'll have the Spanish group and then you'll have the English lads. They'll have like, five or six players in each one of them, and every one of them will be rattling these memes in. I promise you they will."
Since his move to Stamford Bridge in January, several of Rosenior's previous philosophical reflections have come back into the spotlight. Among them is footage from a documentary shot during his time at Strasbourg, where the manager attempted to expand on the nature of his role.

Outlining his philosophy, Rosenior said: "In English, 'manage', if you split the two words, it's 'man' and 'age', so you're ageing men. Am I a manager or a coach? Both. Coaching is educating."
The peculiar remarks prompted a comparison to one of TV's most notoriously awkward bosses. Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, Gary Lineker couldn't resist drawing parallels between the Chelsea chief and The Office's David Brent.
Lineker told co-hosts Micah Richards and Alan Shearer: "I'm quite enjoying Liam Rosenior's slightly David Brent moments. Did you see the stuff about managing, and it's 'man' and 'age' and we are 'ageing men'?".
With Richards erupting in laughter, Lineker observed that whilst other managers employ similarly unconventional tactics, it's Rosenior's open nature that sets him apart.
He added: "Mikel Arteta does similar things, but inside the dressing room. The lightbulb, for example. It amuses me that stuff, that it might make a difference."
