Jayden Danns and James McConnell joined the Liverpool U21s as they reported to the AXA Training Centre, with Arne Slot‘s senior players given time off.
With a five-day gap between fixtures, the Reds spent time together off the pitch before the schedule returns to two games a week with the resumption of the Champions League.
That saw Curtis Jones attend Burberry’s London Fashion Week show on Monday night alongside Aston Villa‘s Morgan Rogers and Arsenal‘s Eberechi Eze.
Mohamed Salah and Milos Kerkez both shared their growing bond on Instagram with the left-back giving a glimpse of the staggering trophy cabinet in Salah’s home.
With Liverpool’s first team away from the AXA Training Centre there was a focus on the academy.
Danns was among those pictured reporting for training on Wednesday morning and This Is Anfield understands the striker has begun non-contact work this week as he nears a return from an injury setback.
McConnell and new centre-back signing Mor Talla Ndiaye also took part in ball work as the pair recover from fitness issues of their own.

The U21s and U18s trained together on the outdoor pitch with the likes of Trent Kone-Doherty, Will Wright, Josh Sonni-Lambie, Tommy Pilling, Rhys Williams, Armin Pecsi, Carter Pinnington, Noah Adekoya and Oakley Cannonier involved.
Their work comes ahead of the visit of Tottenham U21s to the AXA on Sunday, with Page’s side on a seven-game unbeaten run at the start of 2026.
Six of those have been victories, including a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest last time out which saw Kieran Morrison score a free-kick and direct from a corner as well as assisting Adekoya’s first goal for the club.

The U21s are currently fifth in Premier League 2, level on points with fourth-placed Fulham and only two behind both Chelsea in second and Ipswich in third – albeit having played a game more than all of those sides.
After losing four of their first five league games this season the young Reds have only suffered defeat once more, that coming in their final outing of 2025 at West Ham.

Liverpool’s first team are expected to step up training on Thursday ahead of the visit of West Ham in the Premier League.
Slot is due to hold his pre-match press conference on Friday morning and could provide positive news on both Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz, who are likely to be available again after injury.
