Sam Allardyce has criticised Mohamed Salah for his reaction to being taken off by Arne Slot when Liverpool played Nottingham Forest.
The Reds beat Forest 1-0 on Sunday thanks to a late Alexis Mac Allister goal after the Argentine initially had an effort ruled out by VAR.
Few players impressed at the City Ground, but teenage star Rio Ngumoha was praised by Jamie Carragher, who said the youngster did more than both Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo during his short time on the pitch.
Surely there’s no way back to Salah’s best from here?

The Egyptian was hooked after 77 minutes for Ngumoha, and his reaction has not gone down well with Allardyce.

Salah was pictured smirking on the Liverpool bench alongside Gakpo after he was subbed against Forest.
Allardyce has now shared his thoughts on the winger’s actions on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast.
He urged Salah to speak to Slot privately instead of airing his grievances in public, and repeatedly called the Liverpool star a baby.

Allardyce said: “It’s not just a spell that you get. It’s a particular worry for Liverpool and for him. So, stop displaying your dislike for it [being subbed].
“Go and knock on the door in the manager’s office, and go and take it up then.
“Don’t go and displaying in front of everybody else like a big baby. Big baby, big baby, big baby, he’s a baby.”

We have already seen Salah hit out at Liverpool once this season after he was selected on the bench for three Premier League games in a row.
He was then left out of the squad for a trip to Inter Milan the following week before returning in place of Joe Gomez against Brighton and Hove Albion.
International duty with Egypt came at the perfect time for the situation to blow over, and Salah has since started every fixture after competing at the AFCON.
However, his Liverpool form remains a concern, and he has not scored a league goal since November 1, 2025, versus Aston Villa.
Liverpool now face West Ham United on Saturday afternoon before two clashes with Wolverhampton Wanderers next week.
Given the rise of Ngumoha and Salah’s continued underperformances, Slot may decide to drop the veteran attacker in one of those matches.
Let’s just hope Salah doesn’t have another outburst and cause more issues at a time when the Reds need to be focusing on securing a top-four/five Premier League finish and having a strong run in this season’s Champions League.
