The Mavs are the 12th seed in the Western Conference with a 21-36 record in 57 games.
They are in the middle of a two-game winning streak (but only winners of two out of their last ten).
Following the Nets, the Mavs will play their next game on Thursday night when they return home to host the Sacramento Kings in Dallas, Texas.
The Mavs are coming off a year where they missed the NBA playoffs (they lost to Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies in the play-in tournament).
They last won an NBA Championship during the 2011 season (with Kidd as a player).
