Cavs’ Harden sidelined by thumb fracture

Cleveland Cavaliers point guard James Harden sustained a fracture in his right thumb during Tuesday’s game against the New York Knicks and is currently evaluating options and treatment, the team announced Wednesday.

He is listed as questionable for Wednesday’s matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks.

In a statement, the Cavs said Harden had x-rays Wednesday, which confirmed a non-displaced fracture of the distal phalanx.

Harden played just over 32 minutes and finished with 20 points, four assists and two rebounds in Cleveland’s 109-94 victory on Tuesday.

He is averaging 18.9 points and 8.0 assists in seven games with the Cavs since coming over in a trade with the Los Angeles Clippers just prior to the deadline. The Cavaliers are 6-1 in those games.

More to come.
