Could the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks play abroad next fall?
As the NFL continues to trickle out which teams will be part of its nine-game international slate for 2026, the Seahawks remain a possibility for three of the matchups.

Here’s a look at those three possibilities.
• Mexico City – San Francisco 49ers vs. TBD (at Estadio Banorte): The 49ers were announced last week as the host team for a game in Mexico City. And with the Seahawks being an NFC West rival, that makes them a potential opponent. This will be the NFL’s sixth game in Mexico City, and its first since 2022.
• London – Washington Commanders vs. TBD (at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium): The Commanders were announced Wednesday as the host team for one of the NFL’s three games in London next fall. The Commanders are one of the Seahawks’ road opponents for 2026, which make Seattle a possibility for this game. London has been the epicenter of the NFL’s international series over the years, hosting 43 games to date.
• Madrid – TBD vs. TBD (at Bernabéu Stadium): No host team has been announced yet for the NFL’s game in Madrid, which leaves open the possibility the Seahawks could be involved.
The other six international games for the 2026 season will take place in Melbourne, Australia (49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams), Rio de Janeiro (Dallas Cowboys vs. TBD), Paris (New Orleans Saints vs. TBD), Munich (Detroit Lions vs. TBD) and London (two games, both hosted by the Jacksonville Jaguars).
The Seahawks have twice been part of the NFL’s international series slate. In 2018, they beat the Oakland Raiders 27-3 at London’s Wembley Stadium. And in 2022, the lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 21-16 at Munich’s Allianz Arena. The Seahawks also routed the Buffalo Bills 50-17 in Toronto in 2012, but the location for that game was scheduled by the Bills and not the NFL.
