Casemiro is set to leave Man United in the summer, so the Red Devils will need to find a worthy replacement for him.

Casemiro is going to leave in the summer, and Man United have already begun to plan their midfielder shortlist ahead of the transfer window. They have long-term targets such as Elliot Anderson and Carlos Baleba, but also some new names.

Seeing as the Brazilian is more of a defensive presence, United could opt to go after a more physical player, and they have been linked to one from the Bundesliga.

Man United and Chelsea learn Nmecha price

Earlier in the week, reports in Germany emerged which declared that Man United have added Borussia Dortmund and former Man City academy graduate Felix Nmecha to their midfield shortlist.

The German international has impressed in the Bundesliga, and, as he stands at 6 foot 3, he would be able to become that physical presence that United lacks in midfield, whether that be for Michael Carrick or someone else.

According to German news outlet Bild, Nmecha may be difficult to sign, as Dortmund are very sure that they want to keep hold of the 25-year-old. They report that it may take a bid of at least £61m to land the German midfielder, which is a lot, considering that Dortmund signed him for just £26m in 2023.

The report also claims that Chelsea is interested in Nmecha too, so that could further drive his price up, if there were to be a bidding war between United and the Blues in the summer transfer window.

Man United shortlist bargain Forest star

United’s midfield shortlist is growing and growing, and alongside the more expensive options such as Baleba and Anderson, the Red Devils are also interested in cheaper options to help save them some money.

The 28-year-old would cost less than £30m, and that could free up some funds for United to spend on another big-name midfielder as well as Sangare. This season, the Ivory Coast international has made 29 appearances for Nottingham Forest this season, scoring two goals and providing three assists this season.

Sangare can also feature as a centre-back, which could be useful, especially if whoever the next manager is likes to play fluid formations and adapt during the match, because Sangare’s versatility could save the manager from having to make a substitution.
