The latest Jaylen Brown injury update amid his MVP-caliber season is good news for the Boston Celtics as they hope for a Jayson Tatum return.
TheBoston Celtics have been one of the most interesting teams this NBA season,as led by Jaylen Brown, despite missing Jayson Tatum, they havebeen nearthe top of the Eastern Conference standings all season.
However, while a return for Tatum remains uncertain, Brown was recently dealing with a knee injury that kept him sidelined for the Celtics’ latest game against the Phoenix Suns.
But what is good news for Boston is that Brownwastaken off the injury report and will play in the team’s next game against the Denver Nuggets.
“Jaylen Brown is off the injury report and available for tonight’s game at the Denver Nuggets, per the Boston Celtics,” NBA reporter Keith Smith wrote in a post on X. “Jayson Tatum is the only player on the injury report and he remains out.”

Jayson Tatum is the only player on the injury report and he remains out.
Brown is in the midst of an All-NBA and potentially MVP-level season, leading the Celtics to a 38-19 record through the first two-thirds of the regular season.
Celtics Get Jaylen Brown Injury Update
While Brown has been pretty consistent for Boston this season, a bruised right knee kept him out against the Suns on Tuesday night.
While the injury was never a majorcause for concern, he wasfirst listed as questionable and then ruled out. It is unknown whenthe injury was suffered, as it didn’t appear evident during the Celtics’ Sunday night showdown against the Los Angeles Lakers, but it was enough of an issue for the medical staff to sideline him for one contest.
But now, the latest Brown injury updatepoints to him being back against the Nuggets. He has missed a total of six games so far this year, but remains Boston’s number one option on offense, though they didn’t struggle that much without him against Phoenix.
While the knee contusion could have been an issue, the Celtics were hoping itdidn’t get worse. Sitting Brown on the first night of a back-to-back isn’t the most surprising move in the world.
Jaylen Brown Playing At All-NBA Level
Without Tatum so far this year, Brown has taken the reins for Boston, and the numbers show that he is having the best season of his career.
In 51 games, Brown is averaging 29.2 points, seven rebounds, and 4.9 assists, all of which are career-highs, while on 48.1/34.4/77.6 shooting splits.
Brown has claimed that he is the best two-way player in the NBA this season, and while he has a solid case for that argument, his prowess leading the Celtics’ offense without Tatum is perhaps his most notable achievement of the season.
Boston ranks second in offensive rating, second in net rating, and seventh in defensive rating, despite losing several top contributors over the summer from the team’s run of winning the 2024 NBA Finals.
While there were major questions on Brown as a number one option, ones that will likely continue until he either leads the Celtics to a successful playoff run or until Tatum returns, he is making a strong case to make the First Team All-NBA, while also being a top candidate for the MVP award. Based on the latest MVP straw poll on ESPN, Brown ranked sixth.
Boston is currently second in the East and,as a Tatum return looms, is expected to make noise in the playoffs, despite the massive roster changes they’ve undergone this year, in large part due to Brown’s leap.
