The Boston Celtics are on a roll, as they have won nine of their past 10 games to put some pressure on the Detroit Pistons atop the Eastern Conference. Perhaps the most notable win during their recent stretch saw them clobber the Los Angeles Lakers by a final score of 111-89.
As one of the most historic rivalries in all of sports, fans always flock to watch the Celtics and Lakers when they face off. With a primetime slot on Sunday night, though, and both teams being among the best squads in the league, this game drew in more fans than usual. As it turns out, 5.6 million viewers tuned in to watch this game, making it the most-watched regular-season Sunday night game since 2000.

Despite being towards the top of the standings in the East all season long, the Celtics have flown under the radar all season long. With Jayson Tatum recovering from a torn Achilles tendon, and several key contributors from last year's team departing over the offseason, it's not too hard to see why Boston didn't enter the year with many expectations.
And yet, they have proven all season long that they can still go toe-to-toe with the best teams in the league. Heck, they just blew the doors off the Lakers in front of one of the largest audiences in NBA history. The C's are firing on all cylinders, and after taking down the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night, Boston will look to earn its sixth-straight win when it squares off against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night.
