The Chicago Bears are actively considering a potential blockbuster trade involving one of their most recognizable offensive stars, as general manager Ryan Poles made it clear during his time at the NFL Scouting Combine that no option is off the table—including moving wide receiver D.J. Moore.

Chicago Bears Open to Trading D.J. Moore This Offseason: GM Ryan Poles Leaves Door Wide Open at NFL Combine
Speaking to reporters in Indianapolis on February 24, 2026, Poles addressed Moore’s future amid a 2025 season that saw the veteran receiver post career-low production despite playing all 17 games:
“I got to have conversations and kind of see what the best combination of players we can bring in. (But) we want him here. We think highly of him. He’s a great teammate. He has been productive pretty consistently over the last couple years that he has been here. So, I have nothing but great things to say about him.
But this is the time where we have to look at all the different scenarios and see what can allow us to put the best team we can put out there. There’s relationships there, there’s a lot there that makes it really, really difficult. He’s a guy we want here, but we have to look at all the different scenarios.”
Moore, 28, finished 2025 with 50 receptions for 682 yards and 6 touchdowns—his lowest output since his rookie season. The drop-off has fueled speculation that Chicago may be willing to listen to offers for the former first-round pick, especially with the team needing to create cap space and potentially acquire draft capital or defensive help.

Poles’ comments signal the Chicago Bears are in full roster-evaluation mode, willing to explore trades that improve the overall team—even if it means parting with a proven veteran like Moore. While he emphasized that “we want him here,” the repeated mention of “all the different scenarios” has opened the door to serious trade discussions.
With the 2026 league year approaching, expect the Chicago Bears to field calls on Moore’s availability. A move could reshape the offense around Caleb Williams and create flexibility for other needs.
