Coach says no White House invite yet for champion Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks have yet to receive an invitation to the White House following their Super Bowl 60 win earlier this month over the New England Patriots, head coach Mike Macdonald told a group of local reporters Wednesday at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis.

Three options remain for potential 2026 Seahawks international game

Three reporters who cover the Seahawks – Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic and Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune – relayed Macdonald’s response when asked if an invitation to visit the White House had been extended.

“We haven’t got an invite yet. And then we’ll address it after that, after we get the invite,” Macdonald said, per Condotta.

Macdonald said he expects the team will get an invitation, per Bell.

“We’ll wait for the invite and work through it,” Macdonald said, per Dugar. “I think it’s just everybody involved, just like we do everything else.”

The Philadelphia Eagles in 2018 are the only Super Bowl championship team in recent memory not to visit the White House following a title victory. The same Eagles franchise did visit President Donald Trump last April after winning the Super Bowl in 2025, though quarterback Jalen Hurts and wide receiver A.J. Brown were among several Eagles players who did go on the trip.

The Seahawks visited the White House during President Barack Obama’s second term in May 2014 following their Super Bowl 48 win over the Denver Broncos.
