Patriots' GM Eliot Wolf Reveals Pick For Best Combine Performance Of All Time

The New England Patriots are officially turning the page from their Super Bowl LX defeat, as they are putting in work at the 2026 NFL Draft Combine. One guy who has quite a bit of experience working at the combine is the team's general manager, Eliot Wolf, and he recently made an intriguing selection when asked who he believes put together the best combine performance of all time.

With Wolf's dad, Ron Wolf, being the Green Bay Packers general manager during his childhood, he was always around the NFL growing up. That included attending his first combine when he was 11 years old, so it's safe to say that Wolf is very familiar with how this event runs. Throughout his career, though, Wolf believes that former star wide receiver DeSean Jackson put together the best combine performance he's ever seen.

"I always remember DeSean Jackson," Wolf said in a video posted on the Patriots' official X account. "He's so fast, so smooth, cutting full speed after running a 4.3 (40-yard dash). That's probably one of the best ones that I can remember."

Jackson was selected in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles, and would go on to establish himself as one of the most explosive playmakers in NFL history. Throughout his career, Jackson earned three Pro Bowl selections and was a member of the All-Pro Second Team in 2009.

Wolf's analysis of Jackson proved to be spot on, as he enjoyed a strong career in the NFL after dominating at the combine. After the Patriots put together a strong draft class in 2025, Wolf will be looking to make some more spot-on evaluations at the combine this year in order to help New England make another championship run in 2026.
