ANDY DALTON ON TRADE BLOCK

The Steelers could find themselves looking for a quarterback if Aaron Rodgers retires. At 42 years old, it’s very possible that the four-time MVP calls it quits. However, there aren’t many good options available for the Steelers to replace him. One former AFC North quarterback could be an option, though.

ESPN insider Adam Schefter reported on Twitter that the Carolina Panthers have received trade calls on backup quarterback Andy Dalton. Dalton is 38 years old, and Steelers fans may remember him from his time with the Cincinnati Bengals. He was with them from 2011-2019, and he’s bounced around the league since leaving. Dalton’s been with the Panthers since 2023, and now, he could be on the move.

MISSOURI LB IDOLIZED RODGERS

Aaron Rodgers has been in the NFL since 2005, and if he returns, he’ll be the oldest player in the league. That means many young players around the league grew up watching him. The NFL Combine is here, too, so a new crop of young players is set to enter the league. One of them recently spoke about his feelings on Rodgers.

University of Missouri linebacker Josiah Trotter, son of former NFL linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Sr., appeared on the NFL on NBC’s YouTube channel and mentioned that he grew up idolizing Rodgers. He even wanted to play quarterback because of Rodgers. However, Trotter is a linebacker, so he could be playing against Rodgers, which would be an exciting moment.

TEXAS TECH LB LIKES WILSON’S AGILITY

The Steelers’ defense underwhelmed in 2025, not playing as well as it should have. Not all of the team’s young pieces took a huge step forward, either. Payton Wilson is one example. He’s got a ton of talent, including a unique blend of size and athleticism. There aren’t many linebackers who can move like Wilson.

Texas Tech linebacker Jacob Rodriguez agrees with that. In an interview on CBS Sports’ YouTube channel, Rodriguez was asked to build the perfect linebacker, and he took Wilson’s agility. Considering he could’ve used any linebacker, it speaks volumes that he picked Wilson, who has been in the league for only two years.
