The WWE roster is awaiting their official ratings for the upcoming WWE 2K26 video game release. Much like the NBA and NFL, WWE wrestlers are often fascinated to learn how the video game rates them compared to their peers. Past years have seen big names like Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and Brock Lesnar as the usual names to have the highest overall rating on a 100 scale.
WWE 2K26’s top ratings were leaked with the top six active wrestlers revealed:
Gunther: 97
Roman Reigns: 95
Cody Rhodes: 95
Bianca Belair: 95
Seth “Freakin’” Rollins: 94
Brock Lesnar: 94
Various throwback wrestlers from past eras will likely have similar and potentially higher ratings. However, Gunther remains the top overall ranked wrestler of today’s active roster for the first time in his WWE career. Recent wins to retire Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles likely influenced the new top heel having such an elite rating.
The next four after Gunther have been the faces of WWE for at least the last few years and for the past decade for some. WWE 2K26 is also likely believing in a massive year for Gunther as WWE builds upon his presentation as the dominant heel ending the careers of legends.
Did WWE 2K26 Snub Anyone?
Some names missing from this list will rub their fans the wrong way in the WWE 2K26 upper echelon rankings. Drew McIntyre, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and cover star CM Punk could all have been in the top five ratings, especially based on their past ratings.
WWE 2K26’s minds decided that these other talents were more deserving this year. Flair and Lynch taking steps back compared to their usual world title contention provides a valid explanation there. McIntyre is currently WWE Champion, but he’s been slotted below Rhodes and Reigns in recent memory.
Punk is the biggest snub since the cover star usually gets the benefit of the doubt to boost their rating by a few points. WWE also used Punk in a main event role all year, and he’s currently in the middle of a strong WWE World Heavyweight Championship reign.
Does This Forecast Gunther’s WWE Future?
Gunther is developing a reputation for ending the careers of all-time great legends. Defeating Cena in the legend’s final match was the biggest win of Gunther’s career. The momentum only increased when Styles lost a retirement match to Gunther at the Royal Rumble event.
Rumors indicate that other legends like Lesnar, Randy Orton, and a potentially returning Chris Jericho could be next on his hit list. WWE has something special with a top respected heel being the one to close the books on respected icons being forced to retire in decisive fashion.
Gunther’s WWE 2K26 rating as the top active star is relevant outside of just gaming. WWE plans to make Gunther bigger than ever, so expect his push to continue reaching new heights. Gunther is selected for this position due to how much Triple H believes in him, and that won’t end any time soon.
