Pat Nevin thinks there are some aspects of Liam Delap’s game that Chelsea supporters like.
Delap impressed at Ipswich Town last season but has struggled at Chelsea this term. In total, the striker has scored just one goal in 18 Premier League appearances.
Troy Deeney thinks Delap can still come good at Stamford Bridge; however, the 23-year-old has been linked with a move away from west London.

While Delap has not been prolific in the current campaign, Nevin believes he is still rated by Chelsea fans.

Pat Nevin claims Chelsea fans appreciate Liam Delap’s work rate
Delap may not be scoring right now, but the Englishman does put himself about and constantly chases after the ball and defenders.
According to Nevin, that is something that Chelsea supporters like. The former Blues winger said to TEAMtalk: “Is it one goal so far in the Premier League? Something like that, which is not what you want. You expect a lot better than that for a big-money signing.
“And he did much better at Ipswich before the switch. But you ask Chelsea fans and they quite like him. The reason is he works hard, and he makes space for other people.”
Delap did manage to provide three assists in a single game against Hull City in the FA Cup earlier this month.

The England Under-21 international does offer something on the pitch, but he is at serious risk of being replaced next season if goals do not start to come soon.
Several strikers have already been linked to the Club World Cup winners, including Brentford’s Igor Thiago. It has been claimed that Chelsea are targeting Thiago, so that is one name that could replace Delap.

Liam Delap’s full Premier League stats this season
After scoring 12 goals in 37 Premier League appearances at Ipswich last term, this campaign really has been a disappointing one for Delap.
Again, the Chelsea man has only scored once in 18 outings in the English top flight. He has also failed to register a single assist.
Delap has had a couple of bad injuries, but he has still played a total of 725 minutes and should thus have more goals to his name.
The former Ipswich striker has only picked up two yellow cards in the Premier League, which is a bit of a surprise given his playing style and Chelsea’s overall disciplinary record.
