Liverpool In Contact To Complete Signing–Agent Makes Massive Statement–Liverpool To Make Stunning Rodrygo Swap

Here is a roundup of the top Liverpool news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Rodrygo, Roland Sallai and Florian Wirtz that you may have missed…

Liverpool have made contact with Galatasaray right-back Roland Sallai, the latest report has claimed, as Arne Slot looks to improve that right-back area of the squad which has caused alot of issues this season.

Trent Alexander-Arnold left LIVERPOOL in the summer of 2024 to join Real Madrid, and many believed that Jeremir Frimpong and Conor Bradley were good enough to replace the English star, but both players have not only proven unreliable from a fitness perspective, but they have also failed to impress when playing out from defence.

That has led to speculation about who Liverpool will try and sign in the summer window, and now, Speaking to Blikk, Tibor Sallai revealed his son has ambitions of making a switch to another team: “Roli feels good here. He loves the club [Galatasaray], he doesn’t want to leave at any cost, but I think he still has one big step left in his career, a really big club.

“From here, he can only sign for a team that is truly one of the top teams in the world. Liverpool could be such a destination, and I admit, I wouldn’t be surprised if this club change happened now. I know that contact has already been made through a management office.

“I don’t want to, and I don’t want to shout anything, but my son will really have a good chance in the summer.

‘It wouldn’t be just any moment if Liverpool were to run out onto the Anfield Road turf with three Hungarians in the starting lineup.”

Is Sallai Good enough for Liverpool?

LIVERPOOL have ben watching the 28-year old for a while, we are sure that they have scouted the defender on numerous ocsassions and if they believe that he is ready for a move to the Premier League, then he must be good enough.

The the right back is no youngster and there will be many out there that have never heard of the defender, so it will be interesting to see if Liverpool do actually make a move for someone that has done nothing in the game.

WIRTZ STILL WANTS MADRID – AGENT

Florian Wirtz’s agent has revealed he wanted the Germany and Liverpool star to sign for Real Madrid in the summer and hasn’t given up hope of securing the player a future move to the Bernabeu.

The German star made a real name for himself in the Bundesliga as one of the most cretaive players in the league, and his performances caught the attentions of *LIVERPOOL*boss Arne Slot, who wanted to add some of his own signings to the attack.

And after a bad start to life in England, Wirtz has improved a great deal since he arrived from Bayer Leverkusen over the summer, now adding goal contributions on a regular basis.

The 22-year-old was expected to be used as a number 10 when he first arrived at Anfield, but he excelled on both wings as well, but once again, his agent has been sturring the transfer speculation regarding the talented star.

He told the Phrasenmaher podcast: “That year, it simply wasn’t the right time due to the squad and the budget. Even Real Madrid’s coffers aren’t always overflowing. But my wish remains that Florian will play there one day.

“I wasn’t deeply enough involved in the offers that were on the table. My greatest wish, of course, would have been to have Florian at Real Madrid to see – and I don’t think I’m alone in that. Also because of my history with Toni, because of my relationship with those in charge at Real Madrid, I also think he would be in very good hands there.

“He’s doing quite well in Liverpool now, he’s a very young player and who knows what might happen in his career.”

Could Madrid push for a move in the summer?

Wirtz has a massive contract at LIVERPOOL, he seems happy enough and we will only know if he wants that move to Madrid if they make an official offer. But considering how much it would cost in transfer fees, agents fees and the players wages, right now may not be the best time to make a move.

They will probably wait a few years before making an offer as his contract will run down a bit, but we can see Madrid making transfer moves in the summer, it will just not be for Wirtz.

LIVERPOOL PLAN RODRYGO SWAP

Liverpool and Real Madrid are reportedly exploring a sensational swap deal this summer that would see Dominik Szoboszlai move to the Santiago Bernabéu in exchange for Brazilian winger Rodrygo, according to Fichajes .

The deal, described in Spanish media as a “bombshell” proposal, could mark one of the most headline-grabbing transactions of the 2026 summer transfer window if the two European powerhouses can agree on the details.

The concept revolves around Real Madrid paying part of Szoboszlai’s value — widely estimated around £100 million — plus the versatile, attack-minded Rodrygo Goes for *LIVERPOOL*’s midfield fulcrum.

Real Madrid’s interest in Szoboszlai has been a recurring theme this season, with sources indicating the Spanish giants admire the Hungarian’s creativity and box-to-box influence. Rumours suggest Los Blancos view him as the kind of dynamic midfielder capable of boosting their attacking link-play and adding goals from midfield.

For Liverpool, the lure of Rodrygo — a Brazilian international capable of playing across both wings with speed, directness and an eye for goal — fits a pressing need to reinforce wide attacking options following departures and injury concerns. But while the idea has generated buzz, multiple factors make the proposal complicated.

Key practical obstacles remain. Szoboszlai has been one of Liverpool’s standout performers this season and is contracted until 2028; sources close to the club have said there are no plans to part with him, with contract talks reportedly ongoing that underscore Liverpool’s intent to keep the midfielder integral to their future.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, would have to reconcile Rodrygo’s valuation and insist on significant compensation beyond a straight player exchange. The Brazilian’s wage demands and Madrid’s own squad balance considerations could also complicate matters.

Could it happen?

In theory, high-profile swap deals are not unprecedented in football, but they require perfect alignment on valuation, player willingness and strategic fit. Szoboszlai is contracted long-term and viewed as a lynchpin at Anfield; convincing LIVERPOOL to surrender him — even for a talent of Rodrygo’s calibre — would likely demand additional cash or collateral.

Similarly, Real Madrid must be certain they want Szoboszlai enough to part with a home-grown star like Rodrygo. Pragmatically, while the rumour adds flavour to the summer window, most analysts regard the deal as unlikely to materialise in its current form, with both clubs more inclined to pursue separate, conventional transfers rather than an outright swap
