When the lights shine brightest in Europe, Vinicius Jr. rarely disappoints.
Since arriving at Real Madrid, the Brazilian forward has developed into one of the most decisive players in UEFA Champions League knockout football.
As such, across his eight seasons in Madrid, no player has been involved in more goals during the knockout stages than Vinicius.
Time and again, he has delivered when the margin for error is zero, and against SL Benfica in the recent play-off tie, he once again stepped up in both legs.
But this is not only about continental performances. Vinicius is currently enjoying one of the strongest runs of his career.
In a galactic zone
With goals in five consecutive matches across all competitions, he has entered what many Madrid fans are calling “galactic mode.”
The numbers speak loudly. After scoring the decisive goal against Benfica at the Santiago Bernabeu, Vinicius became the first player in Champions League history to score in both legs of a knockout tie against a team managed by Jose Mourinho.

That goal also marked his 13th of the season and his third in this Champions League campaign.
More impressively, he has now scored six goals in his last five appearances for Real Madrid, equalling the best scoring streak of his time at the club.
Notably, February has belonged to him, as Rayo Vallecano, Real Sociedad, against whom he scored twice, Benfica and Osasuna have all felt the impact of his sharp finishing.
The only fixture he missed was the visit to Mestalla to face Valencia due to suspension.
At just 25, Vinicius continues to evolve. His pace remains electric, but his decision-making and composure in front of goal have matured.
If Real Madrid are to chase another deep Champions League run, their Brazilian star looks ready to lead the charge once again.
