This summer, AC Milan could get the band back together, with reports suggesting that Luka Modric could be joined in midfield by a former teammate.
It is a bit of a surprise to see Milan linked with an aging talent, given they have so often focused on the younger players for the future. However, when an opportunity arises, they remain keen to consider them, regardless of which end of their career they are on.
Galactico-theme extending?
This morning, then, The Sun reports that the Rossoneri are taking a look at Casemiro, who has recently told those around him that he can continue playing at a high level, despite his contract with Manchester United not being renewed at the end of this season.
In fact, those close to him have looked toward Serie A as a possible destination, and given Modric’s success at San Siro, it has been listed as a potential destination.
Since returning to the Red Devils’ midfield rotation last year, he has been a mainstay, starting 24 of their 29 games this season, whilst also contributing a few goals.
At 34-years-old, he could certainly still have something to offer, and the Rossoneri may take a look in the next few months.
