Clapp signed with New Orleans in March 2025, but suffered a season-ending lisfranc tear in the Saints’ first preseason game.

“We call a little old quick pass play and the guy hits me with a little bull-to-swim, and when I went to redirect on his swim move I just felt my whole foot give out,” Clapp said in a November 2025 interview. “I limped back to the huddle and I was trying to convince myself I was good to go. Played another snap and I was like, ‘I’m not right.’”

It proved to be the final snap of Clapp’s career.

Clapp was a seventh-round draft pick out of LSU in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Saints. He played his first four seasons in New Orleans, starting seven of 34 games from 2018-21.

Clapp signed with the Los Angeles Chargers in April 2022. Over the next two seasons, he took on a more vital role snapping the ball to quarterback Justin Herbert.

Clapp played one game for the Bills in 2024.
