Report: Teams Making Trade Calls For Bears WR DJ Moore

The Pittsburgh Steelers need to add multiple wide receivers this offseason. They could draft receivers, sign them in free agency, and even dip into the trade market as they did last year with DK Metcalf. One name that is popping up on the trade market is Chicago Bears WR DJ Moore.

Analyst Daniel Jeremiah said earlier this month that the Steelers could look into trading for Moore. On one hand, it makes sense. Moore is still fairly young — he turns 29 in mid-April — and has been a productive receiver with both the Carolina Panthers and the Bears.

However, it seems the market is heating up for Moore in recent days. NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that teams are inquiring about Moore’s availability.

“Two other names the#Bears have received calls on are QB Tyson Bagent and WR DJ Moore, per sources,” Schultz wrote on Twitter/X. “Moore has over $23M in guaranteed money in 2026 and is viewed as available for the right price by teams in the WR market.”

DJ Moore is due a 2026 base salary of $23,485,000 that is fully guaranteed. He can also earn another $1.015 million in per-game and workout bonuses. He’s currently under contract through 2029. If the Steelers trade for Moore, he’ll count $24.5 million against the cap. That’s a hefty price to pay beyond whatever he would cost in trade compensation.

However, if the Steelers acquire Moore, he’d be an instant impact player opposite WR DK Metcalf. He has appeared in 131 games with 124 starts over eight NFL seasons. He caught 608 passes for 8,213 yards (13.5 yards per catch) and 41 touchdowns in that span.

Plus, Moore can make catches like this overtime winner against the Green Bay Packers.

That’s incredible concentration to track the ball and make the catch despite the corner appearing to get his arms around Moore’s shoulders early.

The question is, how many teams are making calls on DJ Moore? The Bears will certainly raise the asking price if a lot of teams are calling. Will that price the Steelers out of making a trade? We will have to see.
