The Dallas Cowboys and team owner Jerry Jones are looking to be aggressive during the NFL offseason in search of being a more serious Super Bowl contender in 2026.
After missing out on the playoffs last season and ending the year with a 7-9-1 record, there is clear frustration surrounding the franchise. Fans are tired of seeing the team come up short of expectations and Jones clearly isn’t happy with the lack of winning.
That has led to quite a few rumors surrounding the Cowboys as the NFL offseason gets underway.
One potential blockbuster rumor has connected Dallas to potentially pursuing a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders for superstar pass rusher Maxx Crosby. Following the trade of Micah Parsons last offseason, it was clear throughout the 2025 season that the Cowboys need more pass rushing help.
Making a trade for Crosby would fix that issue. Now, Dallas has received a new update about what it would take to acquire him from the Raiders.
Dallas Cowboys Learn Asking Price for Maxx Crosby
According to a report from NFL insider Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Las Vegas has a steep asking price for Crosby.
“Will the Raiders trade defensive end Maxx Crosby? Yes, if they get what they want for him,” Florio wrote. “Per a league source, the Raiders are looking for two first-round picks and a player for the 28-year-old edge rusher.”
While two first-round picks is a very big ask from the Raiders, this report actually puts the Cowboys in a much more favorable position to acquire Crosby.
Trading Parsons was a tough decision to make. However, it did give Dallas an extra first-round pick this season. The Cowboys have much more draft capital to use than other potential interested teams.
Jones is positioned well with his draft picks to trade a couple of them for a superstar like Crosby. It’s something that he is sure to consider this offseason.
What Would Maxx Crosby Bring to the Cowboys?
Throughout his NFL career, Crosby has consistently been one of the most underrated superstars on the defensive side of the football.
Crosby is respected as a superstar, but he isn’t given as much attention as others like Parsons or Myles Garrett. That being said, he has produced at an insanely high level throughout his career.
Last season with Las Vegas, Crosby racked up 73 tackles, 10 sacks, two forced fumbles, an interception, and six defended passes in 15 games. He has totaled 439 tackles, 69.5 sacks, 11 forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, an interception, and 29 defended passes throughout his entire 110-game NFL career.
Bringing in that kind of production would be a big step towards taking Dallas back to being a contender. The price tag is high, but the return would be worth it for the Cowboys.
