Liverpool Handed Double Fitness Boost As Summer Signings Return To Training

**Liverpool pair Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong have been pictured in their training gear ahead of Saturday’s clash against West Ham.**

Wirtz missed the 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest after pulling up with a back problem in the warm-up.

However, the £116m summer signing was pictured with his teammates at the AXA Training Centre on Thursday morning.

Head coach Arne Slot had said that Wirtz’s injury was not particularly serious and he expected to have him back available this week.

What is the situation with Frimpong?

------------------------------------

The right-back (who also arrived last summer) has not featured since picking up a groin injury early on in the game against Qarabag last month.

Frimpong has subsequently missed the last five fixtures versus Newcastle, Manchester City, Sunderland, Brighton (in the FA Cup) and Nottingham Forest.

Considering the length of time the Dutchman has been out for, it is unlikely that he will be in the [**starting lineup against West Ham**](https://walkon.com/blog/liverpool-predicted-lineup-vs-west-ham-2/) this weekend, even if he is fit enough to make the matchday squad.

Latest Liverpool injury news

----------------------------

With Wirtz and Frimpong seemingly on their way back to full fitness, the Reds’ treatment table will be much less crowded than it has been in recent weeks.

There are four other players sidelined. Alexander Isak is the closest to making his return to action. He is currently in light training as he steps up his recovery from a fractured leg he sustained against Tottenham in December. He could be back in contention in late March.

Wataru Endo has a serious ankle injury, and it remains to be seen whether he will return before the final game of the season. Giovanni Leoni and Conor Bradley both have knee injuries that mean they won’t be available until next campaign.
