It is election season in Barcelona and all of the club presidential pre-candidates are busy developing and propagating their manifestos to earn votes in next month’s voting.
Among them is the former president of the club, Joan Laporta, who is also the favourite to return to the post once more.
After all, the president has the support of the dressing room, the manager, and a massive part of the fanbase, given the team’s return to prominence and form under Hansi Flick in recent years.
Important signatories to join
As conveyed by Mundo Deportivo in a recent report, the sporting director of Barcelona, Deco, and the club’s deputy to the sports management, Bojan Krkic Jr., will sign their support for the pre-candidacy of Laporta later today.

The event will take place at the headquarters of Provenca Street in Barcelona as Laporta will interact with members who arrive to show and sign the support for his petition to continue as club president.
It has been an ongoing campaign for weeks now, and the duo who were vital in his last stint will also be present to sign their participation in his campaign.
Deco has been harshly attacked by other pre-candidates like Victor Font and is unlikely to continue in his position unless Laporta is re-elected. Flick too, surprisingly, stands in a similar boat, although he has not expressed any such idea openly.
Both Deco and Bojan attended the presentation of Laporta’s book ‘Aixi hem Salvat el Barca’ last Monday and have made it clear that they retain loyalty to the former president.
In all likelihood, they will retain their positions of power if Laporta returns as the president of Barcelona.
