Barcelona will be without the services of Frenkie de Jong for up to six weeks, the club announced on Thursday.
The 28-year-old Netherlands midfielder incurred an injury to the distal biceps of his right leg in training earlier in the day.

De Jong has made 31 appearances across all competitions this season, including 19 in La Liga. The native of Gorinchem is in his seventh season at Camp Nou. De Jong has made a total of 196 league appearances, scoring 15 goals.
Internationally, de Jong has been capped 64 by the Oranje since his senior debut in 2018. The Ajax academy product appeared at Euro 2020 and the 2022 FIFA World Cup, but missed out on Euro 2024 with an ankle injury.
Barca currently sits atop the table with 61 points through 25 matches, one point clear of archrivals Real Madrid. They host Villarreal on Saturday.
