Personal teams nearly done: Liverpool could break British transfer record again this summer -…

Liverpool are ready to reignite their interest in Yan Diomande when the summer transfer window opens, according to our friends at Football Fancast.

Diomande was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer transfer window as clubs looked to bolster their squads for the second half of the season, but his huge price tag put potential suitors off mid-season.

The talented teenager is set to have his pick of new clubs to sign for when the summer transfer window opens, however, with his fine form at RB Leipzig not ceasing since the January transfer window closed.

Liverpool To Agree Personal Terms Over Summer Transfer

Liverpool are among those who have watched Diomande on a number of occasions already this season and have been in contact with the player's representatives over a move to Anfield this summer.

Football Fancast report that the Reds are close to agreeing personal terms with the 19-year-old and that it may take them close to another British transfer record to sign the young forward this summer.

Liverpool broke the British transfer record twice in the last summer transfer window when they signed Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen for £116million and then Alexander Isak from Premier League rivals Newcastle United for £125million.

Diomande was priced at around £87million in the January transfer window and if he continues to impress in the Bundesliga this season that will only rise. Leipzig hold all the cards in any negotiations for the teenager, with the Ivorian having a contract at the Red Bull Arena until 2030.

Yan Diomande Would Offer So Much More Than Attacking Output

Leipzig teammate Assan Ouedraogo raved about the youngster following a 3-1 win over Stuttgart earlier this season. He said: "He's unbelievable. When you let him get in a one-vs-one situation, you know he's going to win the duel."

Leipzig boss Ole Werner also delivered a verdict on the teenager that the supporters and Liverpool head coach Arne Slot will love - that it's not all about his attacking output.

"I also really like how he works hard defensively and is very disciplined," Werner said. "He tries to win the ball and gets involved in the press."

Liverpool supporters will get to see Diomande in action in the World Cup this year, with Ivory Coast paired with Germany, Ecuador and Curacao in Group E for the tournament in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico in June and July. But a number of other teams' fans will also have a close eye on the frontman, with Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea also having been linked with a move to sign him.
