Buffalo Bills news: News and notes from the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine

The Buffalo Bills and the rest of the NFL teams are gathering in Indianapolis for the league’s annual scouting combine, which serves as a terrific opportunity for teams to conduct interviews with and watch the best college football prospects run through drills at Lucas Oil Stadium.

This year’s scouting combine began on Monday and while the on-field workouts haven’t started yet (they get underway today and run through Sunday), there’s been plenty of Bills news to cover from the combine.

Today’s edition of Buffalo Rumblinks leads off with the latest news, notes, and observations from the NFL’s scouting combine, including a salary restructure of starting right tackle Spencer Brown and speculation on the future of tight end Dawson Knox in Buffalo.

So far at the combine, we’ve heard from president of football operations/general manager Brandon Beane and first-year head coach Joe Brady during their sessions with the media. Among the key takeaways from their press conferences: the Bills want veteran tight end Dawson Knox back, but they need him to accept a reworked contract with less of a financial hit or else he could be at risk of being released; Beane hasn’t ruled out moving veteran nickel cornerback Taron Johnson to safety; Brady plans on letting new defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard run the show on that side of the ball; and embattled wide receiver Keon Coleman will have every chance to take advantage of his opportunities.

Among the other newsy items out of Indianapolis: examining how much cap space the Bills created by reworking Brown’s deal; former Bills linebacker Tremaine Edmunds could be on his way out of Chicago; and Beane and Brady comment on the possibility of the Bills bringing in veteran speedster Tyreek Hill in free agency.

Exploring why the Bills would be wise to spend this offseason building a Super Bowl-caliber defense. Plus, assessing why former head coach John Fox was a great addition to Brady’s coaching staff; and identifying the biggest positions for Buffalo’s coaches and front office to scout at the combine.
