Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says what the Chelsea owners think about Liam Rosenior

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes the Chelsea hierarchy have firmly closed the chapter on the Enzo Maresca era, pivoting their entire focus toward providing Liam Rosenior with all the support.

The Chelsea owners moved on almost instantly from Enzo Maresca‘s time at Stamford Bridge, after the headache he supposedly gave them and the medical department.

Liam Rosenior has made a good account for himself, winning eight, drawing two, and losing two, but cracks are starting to appear.

John Obi Mikel pointed out Rosenior’s lack of bravery when it comes to calling out players and fixing Chelsea’s disciplinary issues at Stamford Bridge.

But Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes that the Chelsea owners are firmly behind him.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink thinks the Chelsea owners are firmly behind Liam Rosenior

Speaking on Sky Sports News, Hasselbaink stated that it’s time to move on from Enzo Maresca now and give Rosenior the support that he requires.

“I think they will be thinking, what can we do to help Liam as much as possible to get wins on the board and to be successful. I think that’s their mindset, and rightly so.

“You know, Maresca has done absolutely magnificent. He’s put them into the Champions League. He’s won a cup. He’s won the Club World Cup. He’s done exceptionally.

“What has happened has happened, but it’s history. You know, you need to look forward. And looking forward is Liam.”

How Liam Rosenior’s start at Chelsea compares to Enzo Maresca

Liam Rosenior’s first 12 games have brought a wave of attacking football to Stamford Bridge, yet the new boss is currently grappling with a concentration crisis that threatens to undo his hard work.

He made history by winning his debut 5-1 against Charlton, the largest debut victory in club history, and quickly secured six wins from his first seven games, a feat only bettered by Carlo Ancelotti. However, while his 70% win rate in the league initially outpaced Maresca’s 1.75 PPG, recent back-to-back home draws against Leeds and Burnley have stalled that momentum.

In contrast, Maresca’s final season was defined by trophy efficiency. While the Italian struggled to string together long winning streaks, peaking at five games, he delivered the Conference League and Club World Cup.

Rosenior has notably improved individual outputs, with Cole Palmer netting five goals in just four games under his tenure, but the defensive discipline has slipped. Chelsea have now dropped a league-high 19 points from winning positions this season, a disastrous trend that has seen the Blues drop to fifth.
