The Gunners are top of the table as things stand, clear of rivals Man City by five points. But, if City are able to beat Leeds United on Saturday, it would put a lot of pressure on Arsenal heading into their game on Sunday.
Chelsea meanwhile currently sit fifth in the Premier League table, and they come off a disappointing 1-1 draw against relegation battling side Burnley last weekend.
Scholes backs Chelsea against Arsenal
Despite the fact that Arsenal are 16 points ahead of Chelsea in the table, and also recently managed to beat them in the Carabao Cup semi-final 4-2 on aggregate, former Man United midfielder Paul Scholes thinks that Liam Rosenoir’s side could cause Arsenal some problems on Sunday.
He said on the Overlap that he could see a draw at the Emirates, and if not a draw, then an away win for the Blues. He said: “‘I fancy Chelsea. I think it could be 0-0. I think it will be a draw or a Chelsea win.
“Arsenal only won the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final because Chelsea needed to get a goal late on and it opened up.”
The last time the two teams met in the Premier League was in late November at Stamford Bridge, when the Gunners failed to secure all three points in a 1-1 draw, which happened despite Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo seeing a red card just 38 minutes into the game.
Arsenal will hope that this weekend is more like the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final which saw a 2-0 win for the Gunners take them to the final, which is next month against Manchester City.
