Packers’ Malik Willis draws incredibly touching message from Sean Clifford amid looming NFL…

All things considered, it appears that Malik Willis has already played his last game with the Green Bay Packers.

The looming NFL free agency has made him a big target for teams needing someone to take over the quarterback position. With Jordan Love in Green Bay, there’s just not a direct avenue for him to be a QB1 in Titletown.

It has also been reported that the former Liberty Flames star signal-caller is expected to fetch at least $30 million per year in free agency.

The journey of Willis in the NFL has been an interesting and inspiring one for many. Many thought he wouldn’t last any longer in the league after two forgettable years with the Tennessee Titans, but his stint in Green Bay rebuilt his stock, making him a must-target free agent following the 2025 season.

Ex-Packers QB shows love for Willis amid NFL free agency

Willis’ former Green Bay teammate and fellow quarterback Sean Clifford has been one of his biggest believers, and he recently put into words how happy he is for him.

“Malik has become one of my best friends, and there’s honestly no one more deserving of everything coming his way. I know firsthand it’s never been about money or headlines for him but it’s about the work, the faith, and showing up every single day chasing the dream the right way,” a part of Clifford’s post on social media on Thursday read.

“Watching his journey up close has been inspiring. He’s showing guys like me what perseverance, belief, and patience really look like in the NFL. So proud of you, brother. Wherever you go, that team is getting a STUD.”

Clifford was with the Packers from 2023 to 2025 as part of the insurance behind Love. He’s appeared in only two games with Green Bay, both in 2023. He’s been with the Cincinnati Bengals since getting waived by Green Bay in 2025.

As for Willis, he’s passed for 972 yards and six touchdowns with zero interceptions in 11 appearances for the Packers, who acquired him via a trade with the Tennessee Titans in 2024 for a 2025 seventh-rounder.
