Liverpool will face Galatasaray in the last-16 of the Champions League after the draw was made for the knockout stages.
The Reds will re-enter the competition next month after avoiding the extra play-off round thanks to their top-eight finish in the league phase, and they've been handed a rematch against Galatasaray as their first test on the road to May's final in Budapest.
Details will be confirmed in due course, but Liverpool will travel to Istanbul for the first leg on March 10/11, before hosting its opponent at Anfield for the return leg on March 17/18, with Arne Slot's side aiming to take the first step towards a seventh European crown.
The last-16 tie sees a rematch of one of Liverpool's games from the league phase. The Reds suffered a 1-0 defeat when they originally traveled to Istanbul, and will be hoping to avoid a similar fate next month.
Having been drawn against Galatasaray in the last-16, Liverpool now also knows its potential path to the final.
Should it overcome its Turkish opponent, the Reds will face one of Paris Saint-Germain or Chelsea, which could see a replay of last season's last-16 tie against against the eventual winners of the competition.
From there, one of Real Madrid, Manchester City, Atalanta or Bayern Munich would provide the opponent in the semi-finals, while Newcastle, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Tottenham, Bodo/Glimt, Sporting CP, Bayer Leverkusen and Arsenal are all potential opponents in the final, having been placed on the other side of the draw.
Elsewhere, Liverpool's Premier League rivals have also discovered their fate, with Arsenal set to face Bayer Leverkusen, while City once again comes up against Real Madrid.
Chelsea of course faces PSG, while Newcastle will take on Barcelona, and Tottenham has been paired with Atletico Madrid.
Details of the last-16 ties are set to be confirmed later on Friday, with confirmation of dates for the quarter-finals onwards coming at a later date.
