Man City and Real Madrid set for last 16 reunion

Manchester City have been reunited with record winners Real Madrid, while top seeds Arsenal will play Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League round of 16.

The draw, which took place at UEFA's headquarters in Nyon on Friday morning, saw Liverpool pitted against Galatasaray, with Chelsea to face holders Paris Saint-Germain.

Tottenham will play Atletico Madrid and Newcastle have been drawn to play Barcelona as six Premier League clubs bid to reach the quarter-finals.

The seeded teams, who finished in the top eight of the league phase, were all drawn against one of the eight play-off winners and will have the advantage of playing the second legs at home.

The first legs will be played on 10-11 March, with the second legs scheduled for 17-18 March.

The winner of the tie between Man City and Real Madrid, who already met in the league phase of this season's competition, will go onto face either Bayern Munich or Atalanta in the quarter-finals.

Arsenal, meanwhile, would be up against Norway's Bodo/Glimt or Portuguese champions Sporting in the quarter-finals.

Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur are on collision course in the last eight but would have to upset La Liga giants Barcelona and Atletico Madrid respectively in the last 16.
