Arsenal captain and Chelsea target Martin Ødegaard appears set to remain at the Emirates Stadium this summer despite swirling speculation linking him with a move away, including reported interest from the Blues, after what has been a frustrating individual season for the Norwegian playmaker, according to Football London
The creative midfielder, who has been a key figure in Arsenal’s rise as Premier League title contenders in recent years, has endured a stop-start 2025/26 campaign plagued by fitness issues and inconsistent form.
Having been sidelined intermittently, Ødegaard has featured in just 26 of Arsenal’s 42 matches across all competitions, contributing one goal and six assists — a significant drop compared with his output in previous seasons.
That dip in influence, combined with increased competition for creative positions — notably from summer signing Eberechi Eze — has stirred transfer chatter. Critics and fans alike have questioned whether the Norwegian remains Arsenal’s best long-term No.10, and rumours have linked him with exits from north London, including potential switches to clubs like CHELSEA and others seeking midfield reinforcement.
However, Football.London report that Ødegaard “has no plans” to leave Arsenal this summer, and that he remains committed to overcoming his recent struggles and re-establishing himself as a central figure in manager Mikel Arteta’s setup.

Odegaard is a big midfielder in the Premier League, he has come a long way since his struggles at Real Madrid. But at the end of the day, he has injury issues that we dont need here at CHELSEA.
He will probably stay at Arsenal and continue to keep the bench warm next season, and to be honest, we are not sure that another creative midfielder is needed at the club, an experienced defender and a 30 goals a season striker is needed more.
So we are not surprised to see this latest rumour emerge.
