“One thing I can guarantee is that Arsenal will work on eventually midfielders in the summer. Arsenal are looking at some options but I can tell you that one of the priorities in the summer transfer window could be to add a younger right back to the squad.”

“Arsenal are considering to do something in midfield but could also focus in the right-back position and also on the winger position, so Arsenal are going to be active during the summer transfer window.”

Which midfielders are Arsenal looking at?

Reliable sources have confirmed that the Gunners have a major interest in Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi. Mikel Arteta’s side have been tipped to battle Paris Saint-Germain for the teenager’s signature.

Ajax’s Sean Steur has been mentioned as another potential candidate over the last few days, although it remains to be seen how serious their interest is in the young Dutchman.

What about the right-back and winger targets?

In terms of the right-hand side of defence, it appears the Gunners have revived their pursuit of Ivan Fresneda. The Spaniard was a target before he moved to Sporting Lisbon in 2023.

Fresneda would fit the profile of a young right-back that Romano describes. Newcastle’s Tino Livramento would also match the description but the England international would be considerably more expensive.

When we look at wingers, it appears Livramento’s teammate, Anthony Gordon, is very much on the club’s radar. Arteta is said to be a big fan of the 24-year-old, and fans have been debating whether he would be a good signing.
