The Las Vegas Raiders have been firm about keeping Maxx Crosby around for next season, but the situation between both sides still has some loose ends. Crosby has spent seven years with the franchise and built one hell of a resume during that stretch.
He has got 278 solo tackles, 161 assists, 69.5 sacks, three fumble recoveries, and one interception to his name. The edge rusher has earned five Pro Bowl selections too, which speaks to how much he has meant to the team.

However, his future probably won’t get sorted out until he’s fully back from knee surgery last month. That hasn’t stopped the rumor mill from spinning though. Reports suggest the Raiders could still entertain trade conversations while Crosby works his way back from meniscus surgery.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero recently shared an update on the Rich Eisen Show on Thursday by saying Crosby could get moved sooner than people think, possibly within the next week or so.

“I would say it is fair to assume that the Raiders are getting many calls about Maxx Crosby,” Pelissero said.
“You heard what John Spytek said in this room. He expects Maxx to be back, great relationship, texting and talking. We have not heard from Maxx Crosby since that session. Maxx has many ways on social media and podcasts to potentially respond. I would say the Raiders don’t need to make calls. They will get calls on Maxx Crosby. Is there a world where Maxx Crosby gets traded in the next 7 to 10 days? I believe there is.”

The new league year officially begins March 11. Before that, teams get a brief head start. The legal tampering window opens March 9.
General manager John Spytek addressed the whole thing at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. He was direct about wanting Crosby on the roster when next season rolls around.

That didn’t stop the noise from getting louder afterward. Mike Florio from NBC Sports mentioned the Raiders would at least hear teams out if they called about a potential deal.
The price tag would be steep though. Any team trying to pry Crosby loose would need to cough up two first-round picks and throw in a player just to get the conversation going.
