Big boost: Pep Guardiola
The Belgian has been sidelined since the 2-0 win over Galatasaray earlier in the year, struggling with a calf injury.
However, he is back on the grass as City prepare to take on Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday.
That said, Guardiola admitted that he was unsure when Doku would return to match action.
"I don't know [when he will be available],” he conceded.
“We'll talk with the doctors and physios."
City had been suffering somewhat of an injury crisis at the turn of the year, particularly at centre-back.
The absences of John Stones, Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol prompted Guardiola to act in the January transfer market, signing Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace and recalling Max Alleyne from his loan spell at Watford.
Alleyne, however, has joined Gvardiol on the treatment table after taking a knock in the FA Cup win over Salford, while Dias and Stones have since returned to matchday squads.
Guardiola was also handed a boost out wide with Brazilian Savinho returning from his leg injury that he suffered against Sunderland on New Year’s Day, which kept him out for almost two months.
