Bernardo Silva, Mateo Kovacic and Rico Lewis could all be let go by Man City this summer, according to reports.
Responding to questions in a Q&A, Manchester Evening News reporter Simon Bajkowski said the arrival of Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson would not block the path of Nico O’Reilly as several other players may leave:

“Anderson is on the shortlist, and City will look to sign him this summer. After the signings of Semenyo and Guehi have instantly paid off, that will give even more encouragement to the idea of signing proven Premier League potential.”
“Bernardo Silva is likely to leave and Mateo Kovacic and Rico Lewis could also go, so it is not a problem keeping O’Reilly in the midfield and adding Anderson as well.”
What will happen to Silva, Kovacic and Lewis?
The club captain has not given a firm answer on whether he will move on when his contract expires this summer, but as things stand, he will become a free agent on July 1st. Juventus are believed to have tabled a contract proposal.
Kovacic is out injured, but he will have just a year left on his contract at the end of the season, so there is a strong chance that he will be sold. Buy a Kovacic kit from Classic Football Shirts here.
Lewis, meanwhile, is already struggling to get minutes, and if Anderson is snapped up and a right-back is also brought in, there is next to no chance that he will be playing regularly next campaign. In that scenario, a parting of ways would be deemed best for all parties.
Man City will have plenty of competition for Anderson
Manchester United are set to be City’s fiercest competitors in the battle to land the England international, but other teams may also get involved.
Chelsea are known to be keen admirers of Anderson too, and the Blues are reportedly looking to strengthen their midfield options this summer.
