The London Blues Chelsea are preparing a huge deal for Morgan Rogers at the end of the season. It seems like the Chelsea’s manager, Liam Rosenior, has grown fond of Aston Villa’s attacker. Morgan Rogers has one of the best developments in the recent history of football. It would be interesting to see which side the player chooses at the end of the season.
It seems inevitable that Chelsea will finally make a solid move to try and sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa in the summer.
It’s interest that just doesn’t seem to go away, and although Chelsea have not made any formal moves to try and sign him yet, it just has that feel about it. I can just see Rogers going to Chelsea at some point fairly soon. He’s best mates with Cole Palmer and knows many of the other players there. I can’t see him staying at Villa—I feel he will move to one of the very top clubs in Europe sooner rather than later. And it’s very clear that Chelsea wants to try and sign him if they can.
A journalist posted yesterday that ‘Chelsea and Liverpool hold a concrete interest in Morgan Rogers. A summer exit may still be possible despite signing a new deal. You’d expect that there will be some kind of exit clause in his new contract. I doubt that exit clause fee will be low, but the fact that it is likely to be there, and this is just me speculating, mind, means that any move for him to go will be possible.

The development of Morgan Rogers that attracted Chelsea
Aston Villa have been handed a major boost in their hopes of keeping star attacker Morgan Rogers ahead of the summer transfer window, according to a report. The 23-year-old has taken his game to a new level since moving to Villa Park in February 2024. He has established himself as one of the Premier League’s best players under the guidance of head coach Unai Emery.
Last season, Rogers recorded 14 goals and 16 assists in 54 appearances for Villa. He has since contributed with 10 goals and seven assists in 38 games so far this term. Scoring more goals and playing more minutes (3,083) than any of his teammates.
The versatile attacking midfielder has also impressed on the international stage for England. With head coach Thomas Tuchel selecting him five times in his starting lineup across eight of the Three Lions’ 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Villa vs Leeds
The visitors had been on the verge of only their second away league win of the season after a superb 30 yard free kick from Anton Stach gave them the lead. Stach scored in the 31st minute when it appeared he would play the ball to the far post but caught Emiliano Martinez out of position and fired the ball into the top corner.
But Abraham, who rejoined Villa in an £18.2m deal from Besiktas at the end of the January transfer window. He made it 1-1 when he flicked the ball with his knee into the net after Ezri Konsa had won a knockdown from a corner. For Villa, who would have gone level on points with second-placed Manchester City with a win. It was a deserved point, as they dominated after going behind.
They had a great chance to equalize in first-half injury time only for Karl Darlow to make an excellent save to deny Amadou Onana. The hosts pushed for an equalizer. Although Darlow made a superb one-handed save to push Emiliano Buendia’s effort on to the post.

From the author’s point of view, it would be great to see Morgan Rogers in Chelsea’s colors. Although Aston Villa will do their best to retain the player.
