Joe Gomez’s Liverpool future is once again under the microscope as he edges towards the final stretch of his current deal at Anfield. The defender’s contract is due to run until June 2027 after he penned a long‑term extension back in 2022, meaning this summer is shaping up as a natural decision point for both club and player as he enters the last year of that agreement.

There has already been plenty of noise around him, with AC Milan long‑term admirers and coming close to a move both last summer and again in January before Liverpool ultimately decided to keep hold of their longest‑serving player.

Milan were even described as frontrunners at one stage, while Bayern Munich and a clutch of Premier League clubs have also been mentioned in dispatches as potential destinations if the Reds finally cash in.

For a player who joined as a teenager in 2015 and has collected every major honour under Jurgen Klopp and now Arne Slot, the idea of a “last big move” on the continent is understandably attractive.

However, one destination in Bayern has now been ruled out by Bundesliga insider Christian Falk:

“It is not true that Bayern are monitoring Joe Gomez ahead of a summer move,” Falk reported.

“I heard about the rumours as well, but at the moment, there isn’t any interest in the Liverpool centre-back. Bayern Munich are happy with their defensive options.”

“There’s always something that could happen for the backup options, but it won’t be Joe Gomez’s name brought up at the table.”

Liverpool, meanwhile, are plotting a refresh at centre‑back and know this may be their last realistic chance to bank a meaningful fee before his contract winds down, which is why stories about Bayern, Milan and others are only likely to intensify as the summer window approaches.
