UCLA defensive lineman Gary Smith and offensive lineman Garrett DiGiorgio at NFL Combine this…

UCLA will have two representatives at the NFL Combine this weekend in defensive lineman Gary Smith and offensive lineman Garrett DiGiorgio.

Last year, the Bruins had five participants, and they typically have three or four, so this is a bit of a lean year for the program's NFL prospects.

Smith spent four seasons with the program, transferring in from Duke after his sophomore season with the Blue Devils. He was hurt all of 2024, but rebounded with a solid 2025 campaign, starting all 12 games for UCLA.

He's already gone through some of the early testing, leaping 28 inches in the vertical jump. The evaluation of Smith on the NFL website reads: "Smith is a squatty, space-eating nose tackle with a wide, powerful base. He can be reached/sealed by centers on move blocks but is more than capable of using his natural leverage to grow deep roots and occupy blocks against downhill schemes. He offers no rush help but it won't matter for teams looking to fortify their interior against the run. Smith has a chance of finding a roster home as a late draft pick or undrafted free agent signee."

DiGiorgio spent all five of his college seasons with UCLA, starting 49 games for the program, primarily at right tackle. He flipped to guard this past season, and spent a little time at left tackle in parts of a couple of seasons. He has yet to go through testing, but his evaluation reads: "DiGiorgio has good size, but he will need to play full-time at guard to have a chance due to his athletic limitations. He has no issues with toughness. He's able to play with some force but he's unable to fit up and stay connected against moving targets. Issues with body control and foot quickness might be too tall a hill to climb unless he can perfect his technique and play in power rushing attacks."

Coverage of the NFL Combine begins daily at noon pacific, and is featured on the NFL Network.
