It’s time for the most entertaining part of the NFL Scouting Combine!
It’s day two of four days worth of on-field drills for over 300 college football prospects with dreams of playing in the NFL. The combine can be a stock riser or a dropper, plus there are medical “red flags” that may significantly impact teams’ drafting boards. I’m sure Ohio State’s Sonny Styles and Arvell Reese having tremendous performances on Thursday will make those two sought after as likely top 10 picks.
Friday will see the defensive backs and tight ends on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq is going to be one of the most watched prospects by far, although unlike last year there doesn’t figure to be a super prospect like Tyler Warren or Colston Loveland. Cornerback and safety are vastly different stories, and with looming free agent decisions to make on Josh Jobe, Riq Woolen, and Coby Bryant, the Seattle Seahawks will be watching the DBs closely. Based on the reporting from Real Hawk Talk’s Jeff Simmons in Indy, the Seahawks have met with a ton of top cornerback prospects, including Indiana’s D’Angelo Ponds, Tennessee’s Colton Hood, Florida’s Devin Moore, Clemson’s Avieon Terrell, and Arizona State’s Keith Abney. One prominent safety who’s met with Seattle is Oregon’s Dillon Thieneman, who could really set the combine ablaze with an impressive 40-time.
