The Chicago Bears are looking to reshuffle the roster for a multitude of reasons. With Super Bowl aspirations, the Bears need to move some money around.
That could include trading away a few veterans, with DJ Moore being one player often brought up as a trade candidate. Gervon Dexter and Tyson Bagent are also trade options, but the most likely player to move isn't any of those players. It's Tremaine Edmunds.
Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated predicted that Edmunds, in the trade market, could bring back an "early Day 3" draft pick, which would be in the fourth or fifth round. That's good news for the Bears, as anything in return for Edmunds would be a win.
Bears get good news amid trade prediction on Tremaine Edmunds
"And so as the Bears seek a potential trade partner to shed a little salary, there should be a market for the big, athletic, still relatively young linebacker," Breer writes. "What sort of return will Edmunds bring? My guess is that an early Day 3 pick is how most teams would value him..."
If the Bears could trade away Edmunds for an early Day 3 pick, it would be a massive win for the team. Edmunds is a cut-candidate if they can't find a trade.
So, if the Bears can find a way to trade the 27-year-old Pro Bowl linebacker, then it would be a no-brainer, no matter the price. An early Day 3 pick would be a huge win.
Edmunds is owed $15 million this season, and while that might be a lot for an off-ball linebacker, his 2025 season might've done enough to convince a team he's worth it.

In 13 games, Edmunds has four interceptions, nine passes defended, 112 total tackles, one sack, and three tackles for loss to go with three quarterback hits.
In coverage, he allowed a 77.7 quarterback rating, which is a very strong mark. For a team needing a cover linebacker, Edmunds might be the best one available this offseason.
While a team could hope to sign Edmunds to a free agent deal after he's released by the Bears, there would be no guarantee they could land the veteran linebacker. But if a team really want's Edmunds, trading for him would make sense.
This update from Breer on Edmunds trade market is some good news for the Bears. The fact that he's predicting an early Day 3 pick as what the Bears could get would be incredible for Ryan Poles and Chicago.
