Liverpool have the chance to bring in some new faces this summer when the transfer window opens for business
Liverpool are showing ‘serious’ interest in Nottingham Forest defender Murillo ahead of the summer, according to TEAMtalk. The report adds his current club could demand a fee of up to £70million for his signature in the next transfer window. Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich have also been mentioned as potential suitors.
Liverpool target summer move for Murillo at Nottingham Forest
Liverpool could see Murillo as someone to boost their defensive department. If he joined, he would give them more competition and depth at the back. He may have been identified as a potential replacement for Ibrahima Konate, who is out of contract in late June.
The 23-year-old joined Nottingham Forest back in 2023. He has since become a key player at the City Ground and has made 102 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with four goals from the back. Prior to his switch to England, he caught the eye at Corinthians in his native Brazil.
Murillo, who has made one cap for his country, would be an eye-catching addition for Liverpool if they managed to lure him to Anfield. He has proved himself at the top level over the past couple of campaigns. The Merseyside outift will need to see off competition from elsewhere for his signature though.
What now for Liverpool?
Liverpool should be feeling confident after their win at Forest. They will be hoping for more of the same against West Ham. Speaking after their latest victory, Slot said: “My emotions were emotions of happiness and relief. This is probably the first time I have to do a different post-match press conference than I did throughout all these other games, because today we did not play a good game.
“The performance, especially in the first half, was not as we've had so many times this season. But we've been on the wrong side of the score after a good performance far too many times. Today, I think we got more than we deserved. A draw would have been a fairer result of this game than for us to win it.”
