Liverpool have the opportunity to bring in some new faces when the next transfer window opens for business

Liverpool ‘will not’ pay £50million for Wolves attacker Mateus Mane this summer, according to Football Insider. The Reds have been linked with a move for the youngster ahead of the next transfer window. However, they are not prepared to fork out his valuation along with Manchester United. CaughtOffside have recently claimed Arsenal are admirers.

The Reds are sat in 6th place in the Premier League table after 27 fixtures. They are back in action this weekend against West Ham at home. Arne Slot’s side won 1-0 away at Nottingham Forest last time out.

Liverpool will have to look elsewhere for attacking reinforcements when this season is over. Wolves may struggle to sell Mane if they are insistent of receiving £50million for his services. They are set to be relegated to the Championship in this campaign and are in the drop zone with West Ham and Burnley.

Mane, 18, made the switch to Molineux back in 2024 from Rochdale. He has since risen up through their ranks and has broken into their first-team over recent times. The teenager is being tipped for a bright future in the game and has a lot of potential.

The forward made his senior debut in May last year in a league clash against Brighton and Hove Albion. He has since gone on to make 10 appearances in all competitions. The Portugal-born man has chipped in with two goals and will be eager to add to his tally over the coming weeks under the guidance of Rob Edwards.

Liverpool-linked Mateus Mane has recently been praised by pundit Paul Merson: "He is something for the fans, they need something to get them up. He is enthusiastic, he has scored a couple of goals and he looks like he could be a superstar. He works hard and I like his attitude.

"There is a lot of pressure on him for a young kid. It is like, if Mane plays we've got a chance, when really he should be coming in for a couple of games and then coming back out, because there is a lot of pressure on him playing for, and without being unkind, a poor football team. They wouldn't be bottom of the league if they weren't."
