The Green Bay Packers do not yet know who their special teams coordinator will be for the 2026 NFL season. Rich Bisaccia, who was very unpopular among fans, suddenly announced his resignation recently, and the team is still searching for his replacement.
Whoever is hired by Green Bay, though, is going to inherit a special teams unit that has had issues for decades. Indeed, Bisaccia was in a no-win situation as the organization has consistently not invested resources into that facet of the game.
With fans waiting for the announcement of a new coordinator, the team made a decision on Friday that renewed their frustration in Green Bay’s special teams.
Green Bay Packers fans are irate the team non-tendered Zayne Anderson

On Friday, it was reported that the Packers had declined to tender restricted free agent Zayne Anderson a contract. The safety/special teams ace will now become an unrestricted free agent:
The Packers aren’t tendering restricted free agent Zayne Anderson and the safety/special teams ace will become an unrestricted free agent, per source.

Fans, who think Anderson is one of the lone bright spots on special teams, were not thrilled with the announcement:
Rich’s disciples are being martyred. https://t.co/y1RH7fi8Ht

The #Packers simply do not value special teams as much as other teams.
A new coordinator will not be enough to fix it.
This kind of stuff might be why Bisaccia dipped. https://t.co/0PYMPG6m5O

My guess is the front office told Rich Bisaccia they were not going to tender Zayne Anderson last week and he flipped a table and told him he resigned.
Again, just a guess. 🤷♂️ https://t.co/Y8kmmPlc20 pic.twitter.com/qS0pECaJVc

The good news for these fans is that the tender which Green Bay declined to offer him was $3.5 million. He can still re-sign with Green Bay at a lower salary.
One would assume (read: hope) that the Packers will do that and provide whoever their new special teams coordinator is with a legitimate specialist.
